Do the French do everything best? Cheese, bubbly water ("avec gasse," if you will), bubbly wine (more importantly) and anthemic rock tunes? Maybe not all the time, as I do love a good cava, among other things, but Phoenix really knows how to craft something that sticks around even after you've stopped listening—in a good way—and can possibly inspire getting up from your seat and dancing in the aisle of a coach bus between New York and Philadelphia (trust). "Armistice" is that kind of joint. RAC, though, who are not French (and prove that things are best when we're all working together) throw the straight forward guitar song into a popcorn machine and echo the isolated riffs of the original into bubbly (now we've come full circle!) electronic bursts. It comes from Volume 2 of their eponymous compilations (the first one featured reworks Bloc Party and Chromeo, among others). This time around, they've refit some of our favorites by Delorean, Surfer Blood and Washed Out. Check for it on RAC's site.
